Our body houses our soul, our mind/intellect; will/decision making abilities;
and emotions/affection, how we express ourselves, it is our soul that hears our spirit man,
the spirit of the man transfers information from the Spirit of Christ Jesus, The Holy Spirit).
There is also a contending voice, our adversary or the enemy.  God’s plan of Salvation is to
deliver our minds from the wiles of the devil, our adversary.

Salvation the Greek definition is  G4991   sōtēria
Thayer Definition:
1)        deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation; 1a) deliverance from the molestation of enemies
(stopping the enemy from stealing our peace and joy, which hinders us because of the distraction in our
minds, which makes us not wise in our decision making

The Word assures us of help—“Salvation”.
Psalm 16:10  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see
corruption.
Psalm 33:20  Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

The Plan took effect in the Garden of Eden….
Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her
husband with her; and he did eat. (KJV)

The serpent deceived Eve and Adam in the Garden causing Eve to disobey God, and have her believe
the lie that there was no harm in going against God to get a little forbidden knowledge.  She had at that
point taken in evil knowledge, that God had not exposed them to.  This opened up an area of knowledge
that was not beneficial to the blessings God had over their life.  In recognizing that they were naked was a
sign that they were now open to satan the serpent, or giving satan permission to speak to them from
henceforth, he is the father of lies and the deceiver.  When God said “who told you”, and what made them
think they were wrong, “lies and deception” of the devil.  There was a movie out along time ago called
“sleeping with the enemy”, and the Word of God say “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners” (1Corinthians 15:33).  Then that old snake called satan, goes in for the kill “The thief cometh not,
but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly” ,
(John 10:10)   and they both decided (decision making) to hide from God, which was the sign that sin
separates you from God, as if God did not know where they were.

Just like the male and female in sexual intimacy, which if God wills’ produces another human being, a
baby.  So it is with the spirit and soul of a man, when the spirit sends forth a seed (word) into the soul, if
God willed it has to produce.  The problem comes in the form of being hindered (the enemy of our soul),
can’t stop the word, because God said it shall not return to Him void, it must accomplish what He sent it
forth to do.  Therefore, the plan and purpose for the soul must happen.
Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and
not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Now say that Adam (as representing the spirit of man) and Eve (as representing the soul of man) as one,
before God decided to separate them, and now Eve (soul) with  a freewill to think (mind), make decisions
(will) and express herself (emotions), even though in Adam (the spirit of man) informed Eve before the
separation, and the enemy also knew, that now that they were separated, Eve (the soul) now had the right
to make her own choices.  So satan got her to eat (that word which was bad), and Adam (spirit of man) also
ate.  Eve was now bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, the two had become one, separated.

At this point we can see that the one that “Hinders” the enemy of our soul, has now made Adam and Eve
sick, or as many call it, “The Fall of Man”.   But thanks be to God, now they must come out of the Garden
(Paradise), and be reconciled to God, through the process of Redemption and Salvation.

Sick  Hebrew 2470 Definition
חלה châlâh khaw-law' A primitive root (compare H2342, H2490); properly to be rubbed or worn; hence
(figuratively) to be weak, sick, afflicted; or (causatively) to grieve, make sick; also to stroke (in flattering),

pain, X pray, make prayer, be (fall, make) sick, sore, be sorry, make suit (X supplication), woman in travail,
be (become) weak, be wounded.

Many times the warfare of the counselor in being used of God, in helping the human soul
know how to distinguish between the voice of God and the voice of the enemy.  How to hear
from God on a daily basis is an intense and great work for the Christian Counselor.  Not any
type of counselor, because if you do not know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit you will never
get to the root problem that is causing them stress.  Only God knows and understands how
we are uniquely and wonderfully made, and is able to provide for the needs of our soul.

God has made a means, and in this case the counselor serves another with the Gifts of Healings (1 Cor. 12:
28), physical and/or healing of the mind. with the use of various other gifts the power of God as listed in 1
Corinthians 12:8-10 (Zechariah 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the
LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts), such
as, miracles (casting out demons), discernment (identifying demons, the Spirit of the Lord and angelic
presence), the Word of knowledge (something that the counselor could not had previously known, that
delivers and encourages the counselee (the one being ministered to), or the Word of Wisdom (strategy to
help the counselee overcome a particular situation).

In Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible (www.e-sword.net) it is stated...
Zechariah 4:6
This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel - This prince was in a trying situation, and he needed special
encouragement from God; and here it is: Not by might, (of thy own), nor by power, (authority from others),
but by my Spirit - the providence, authority, power, and energy of the Most High. In this way shall my
temple be built; in this way shall my Church be raised and preserved. No secular arm, no human
prudence, no earthly policy, no suits at law, shall ever be used for the founding, extension, and
preservation of my Church. But the spirit of the world says, “These are all means to which as we must have
recourse; otherwise the cause of God may be ruined.” Satan, thou liest!

In closing, a good counselor does not negate the fact that book knowledge and hands-on experience from
a formal classroom setting is needed.  Those that go through an instructional training course
“Temperament Theory” receive extensive learning of the Five Temperaments. A temperament profile
results, are from a series of questions, that identify the traits for that particular person in I-C-A,
Intellect/mind, Control/will and Affection/emotions (how they think, make decisions and express
themselves) and what are the individuals strengths, weaknesses and needs.

Independent of administering the Temperament Analysis Profile, no one should determine by looking or
being around an individual, or even the individual themselves, determine their temperament. It is through
a process of questioning, gathering background information on the person’s past, and present, and even
the person’s parental up bringing, relationships, etc.  Therefore the Counselor is able to identify the areas
that are hindering the counselee from knowing and or walking in the place that God has set apart for them
to be in.  Whether it is a child, and parent having a hard time raising the child (a special parental section
of the report is designed to help the parent recognize strengths, weaknesses, needs and how to address
them).  Reports that helps counselor with domestic violence situation, leadership capabilities, academic
and career counseling, etc., the counselor is prepared to help all people of any persuasion, or provide
referral information.

But God knows the heart of man…
Example: The psalmist, David tells us in Psalms 139:13-16  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast
covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous
are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made
in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet
being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned,
when as yet there was none of them.

The word “reins” means literally the “kidneys;” and then, it comes to denote the inward part, the mind, the
soul, the seat of the desires, affections, and passions.

David knew this, through the trials, tribulation and the gift of repentance God gave him (when he would cry
out to God, after he recognized his weaknesses (in his thought (mind/intellect), deeds (will, decision
making) and actions (what manifested, expressing his feelings (affection/emotions).  Many of David’s
Psalms are his cry for help from God, and God wants us to understand that the plan of redemption is the
salvation of the soul.

One particular incident in the scriptures is where David had, in his lust for Bathsheba sent her husband
Uriah to the front lines of a military battle, to be killed because he had got Bathsheba pregnant.  David was
trying to meet a need, (which I believe was Sanguine compulsive* in affection), in an ungodly way (It was
not God’s desire for him to meet it this way).

*Note:  A compulsive need is when the person is driven to meet that need without an act of will power.
When a compulsive need exists within the temperament, a person will focus most of their attention and
behavior toward meeting that need. Compulsive needs are unique in /that they are almost impossible to
meet without divine intervention. A compulsive need within the temperament is like any other
compulsive.  No matter how many times the person gives into the compulsion, it can never be met or be
satisfied. The only temperament that has no compulsive need is the Phlegmatic. Since a
compulsive need can’t be met by earthly means or methods, the counselor must lead the counselee to
meet these needs through the intervention of Christ.

Finally, only God can supply to the Sanguine in affection Love that gives lasting contentment.  So David
thought about it (maybe a Melancholy in Mind/Intellect, with the capacity of a great thinker, genius prone,
wisdom to make plans from beginning to the end, etc.), and than he made a decision (will), he could have
been a Choleric (need for control and recognition) or a Melancholy (with great leadership abilities, very
independent, etc.), and than he expressed it (his emotions were manifested through David’s physical body)
Imagine all that to try and cover up his sin, and meet the need for love, affection and approval in an
ungodly way (without God’s help).

Herein reads - Scriptural references:
2Samuel 11:3  And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bath-sheba, the
daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
2Sa 11:6  And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.
2Sa 11:15  And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire
ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
Repentance….. 1Kings 15:5  Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned
not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah
the Hittite.

May we as Counselors and individuals never be wise in our own eyes, and know what the will of God is
concerning every individual, never assume, and never believe that we can address the next person like the
last person whose behavior was similar.  May we encourage and support counselors given to us by God
(Ministry Gifts of Healings), especially, but not only to the Body of Christ, but knowing that they have
obtained the wisdom, and tools, God’s strategy to help in His redemption plan for the salvation of souls and
those that have been destined to inherited eternal life.

“Remember our souls are the carriers’ of God’s purpose, plan and vision.  Our bodies are the temple or
house of God, it has legal rights and access into this earth realm.”

Let us give God all the Glory, honor and praise for the victory of the believers.

                    O Soul
O Soul, if I did not covet immortality, I would never have
learned the song which has been sung through all of time.
Rather, I would have been a suicide, nothing remaining of
me except my ashes hidden within the tomb.
O Soul! if I had not been baptized with tears and my eyes
had not been mascaraed by the ghosts of sickness, I would
have seen life as through a veil,
darkly.
O Soul! life is a darkness which ends as in the
sunburst day.
The yearning of my heart tells me there is peace in
the grave.
O Soul!  if some fool tells you the soul perishes like
the body and that which dies never returns, tell him
the flower perishes but the seed remains and lies
before us as the secret of life everlasting.

Philippians 2:12
So then, my beloved, even
as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my
absence, work out your
own salvation with fear and
trembling;

for it is God who
worketh in you both to
will and to work, for his
good pleasure. (KJV)
